When to start every seed, worked out from your frost date

Most sowing dates are counted from the last spring frost. Choose your area or type in your own date, and this planner lists what to sow and when, in date order.

How the dates are worked out

Each crop in the VegLog library has its sowing windows set in weeks before or after the last spring frost, or before the first autumn frost for late sowings. Change the frost date and every window moves with it. These are the same windows the app uses. If you don't know your date, our guide to the last frost in the UK gives typical dates by area, and the sowing calendar shows the whole year on one chart.
