How many plants fit in your bed?

Choose a crop and put in the size of your bed. You'll get the number of plants and a sketch of where they go, using the same spacing as the VegLog app.

How the sums work

Rows uses the gap between plants along the row and the wider gap between rows, as on an allotment or a seed packet. Block uses the in-row gap in every direction, which suits a raised bed you never walk on. Square foot counts whole 30 cm squares and the plants each one holds. All three leave about half a spacing clear round the edge of the bed, and round down, so you never get a plant hanging over the path.
